2026 Basketball Skills Tournament Volunteer

The Annual Special Olympics RI Basketball Skills Tournament at Bryant University, Chace Multipurpose Activities Center, will take place on Sunday, February 15, 2026. After many weeks of training, beginner level athletes of all ages will compete at several skills stations to demonstrate their passing, dribbling, and shooting skills. All will be placed in divisions by ability level and will be awarded medals at the end of the competition.

Volunteers are needed to coordinate the skills stations and do the scoring, escort the athletes to each station, cheer them on and celebrate their accomplishments.

Volunteer Hours: 9am-2:30pm

• Knowledge of the sport of basketball is not needed.
• Volunteers must be 16 years old or older.
• Lunch will be provided.

Many short-term/event volunteer opportunities require no sport specific knowledge and those that do would be noted on the specific event volunteer registration form.
Due to the nature of sports and athletics, Special Olympics Rhode Island events are fast paced and may involve possible risks associated with a specific sport. For this reason, all volunteers must be at least 16 years of age or older to volunteer unless otherwise noted.
