Welcome to the 2022 September edition of Special Olympics Rhode Island Magazine. This month’s show features an interview with Phil Mihailides, Chairman of The Preserve at Boulder Hills and Trooper Brandon Reardon, from the RI Troopers Association, who shared information on the upcoming RI Troopers Association Sporting Clays Fun Shoot. In addition, interview segments were held with Ed Pacheco, President & CEO of Special Olympics Rhode Island who provided information on Celebrate the Movement and a segment that featured Unified Champion Schools US Ambassador, Lexi Scott and her mentor, Adam Scott, who both attended the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games in Orlando.
SORI Magazine airs monthly on OSN (Ch. 5 & Ch. 1005 on the Cox line-up) on Saturdays and Sundays at 12:00pm. You can also view Special Olympics Rhode Island Magazine on YouTube.

- East Providence/Pawtucket Areas: Mondays at 8:00pm and Wednesdays at 12:30pm on Cox Channel 18 and Verizon Channel 25 statewide.
- Johnston/Cranston/Scituate/Foster Areas: Mondays at 6:30pm, Tuesdays at 8:00pm, Thursday at 7:00pm, Friday at 12:00pm and Saturday at 6:00pm on Cox Channel 18 and on Verizon Channel 30 statewide.
Special Olympics Rhode Island Magazine is an award-winning half-hour television show that is produced and hosted by Special Olympics Rhode Island athletes. PEG-RI TV provides studio time, equipment and direction from their dedicated staff.
Each show consists of three or four segments, lasting five to seven minutes each. Topics include appearances by local TV celebrities, interviews with SORI athletes, volunteers, families, coaches and sponsors; previews of upcoming programs and fundraising events. A new feature each month is highlighting one of our local training programs.
Special Olympics RI Magazine was proud to win 1st Place honors at the 1999, 2002, 2003 & 2004 NECTA Public Service Awards sponsored by BRAVO. SORI Magazine also received the Chairman’s Award at the 2005 NECTA Public Service Awards and in 2006 & 2008 received the John Notte III Award for Superior Production Values in the category of System: News and Information, Program Series. In 2008, co-host Mary-Ellen Powers earned a John Notte III Award for Superior Achievement – Cable Television Program Host/Reporter, Program.
