Athlete Spotlight

Meet Lauren Sartini

Lauren Sartini

What team do you participate on?
I have participated on the ReFocus team for 10 years.

What sports do you compete in?
I compete in the 100m and the shot put. I love to challenge myself and these track and field events allow me to do that.

Where did you go to school?
I attended Cumberland High School and graduated in 2008.

Do you have a job? If so, tell us about it.
I currently do not have a job, but if I did, I would love to have a job baking.

Why did you choose to participate in the Athlete Leadership University (ALU)?
I wanted to learn more about leadership. I plan on creating an awareness to improve people’s mental health by helping them access ways to manage stress.

What do you enjoy doing for fun?
I enjoy writing, drawing, camping, going to the beach, and spending time with my cat Simba who is six years old. My favorite thing to draw is animals. I love making cards for people and sending cards to people.

Is there anything else about yourself that you would like to share?
I love making cupcakes and frosting them. I am also a good listener. I have many friends and family who love to come and talk to me because I’m such a good listener.
