Meet Cote David

Cote David

What team do you participate on?
Wampanoag Warriors

What sports do you compete in?
Skiing, Swim, Unified Basketball & Track

Where did you go to school?
Dighton Rehoboth Regional High School. Bridgewater State University (Fall 2003- Present).

Do you have a job? If so, tell us about it?
I’m doing an internship with Gilded Tomato in Rehoboth, Massachusetts. I am an Ambassador – I serve pizza and assist with catering duties.

Why did you choose to participate in the Athlete Leadership University program?
I wanted to learn more about leadership and to get better at speaking to and in front of people.

What do you hope to accomplish through your involvement with this program?
I want to help spread the word about Special Olympics and how it’s helped me with sports, confidence, and independence.

What do you enjoy doing for fun?
I enjoy singing, dancing and acting, watching shows and movies, and hanging with family and friends.

Is there anything else about yourself that you would like to share?
My dream is to work in Early Childhood Care with preschoolers.

The Athlete Spotlight series shines a light on remarkable individuals from Special Olympics Rhode Island who are either currently enrolled in or have successfully completed our Athlete Leadership University program. These inspiring athletes undergo comprehensive leadership training, acquiring both knowledge and skills. Through hands-on experiences in roles of responsibility, they collaborate with leaders who do not have intellectual or developmental disabilities, contributing to the development of inclusive environments. Join us in celebrating these dedicated individuals and their impactful journey within our community!
