Overview

Many short-term/event volunteer opportunities require no sport specific knowledge and those that do would be noted on the specific event volunteer registration form.

Due to the nature of sports and athletics, Special Olympics Rhode Island events are fast paced and may involve possible risks associated with a specific sport. For this reason, all volunteers must be at least 16 years of age or older to volunteer unless otherwise noted.

Upcoming Events:

2025 Penguin Plunge
Date: Wednesday, January 1, 2025
Location: Scarborough State Beach, Narragansett, RI
Volunteer Hours: 9am-1pm

Volunteers are needed to help with beach setup/ breakdown, direct cars in the parking lot, and work in the registration tent checking in participants and distributing incentive items.

This is a fun event and a great way to start the new year!
